Dallas law firm named #1 plaintiff’s firm in U.S. for patent cases

The annual ranking is published by IAM, one of the world’s leading providers of business information for intellectual property owners. The listed firms were selected following five months of research that included nearly 2,000 individual interviews with private practice attorneys and in-house counsel who were asked to identify lawyers and firms with “exceptional skill sets and profound insights into patent matters.”
Caldwell Cassady & Curry earned the high rankings after winning three separate trials against technology powerhouse Apple Inc. during 2016. Those victories included two wins for VirnetX Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas after separate juries awarded $625.6 million and $302.4 million against Apple for infringing a series of technology patents. The firm also successfully represented Cellular Communications Equipment LLC in another Eastern District trial where jurors awarded $22.1 million against Apple for infringing a network technology patent.
