Match Group v. Bumble Trading

The firm represented Match Group, LLC, owner of numerous online dating brands that include the iconic Tinder application, in a highly publicized intellectual property and business dispute with competitor Bumble Trading, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

VirnetX v. Apple

The firm represents VirnetX Inc. in the company’s long-running patent litigation against Apple Inc., which has included five successful jury trials and five nine-figure verdicts in favor of VirnetX. A $439.7 million judgment in September 2017 was affirmed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and a separate December 2020 judgment awarded VirnetX an additional $502.8 million in damages.

Morley v. Square Inc.

The firm represented Washington University in St. Louis professor Dr. Robert Morley in his suit against Square, Jack Dorsey, and Jim McKelvey seeking to restore Dr. Morley’s co-ownership of Square Inc. The parties reached a mutually agreeable settlement in 2016.

Acantha v. DePuy Synthes

The firm represented Acantha LLC in a patent infringement lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson subsidiary DePuy Synthes. Jurors in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin awarded a unanimous $8.2 million verdict in favor of Acantha based on DePuy Synthes’s infringement of an Acantha patent covering an orthopedic implant assembly used in surgical procedures.
