DALLAS – The Dallas law firm Caldwell Cassady & Curry has promoted associate Justin T. Nemunaitis to principal in recognition of his outstanding legal work and leadership at the firm. Like all the attorneys at Caldwell Cassady & Curry, Mr. Nemunaitis represents both plaintiffs and defendants in patent disputes and complex commercial litigation.
Mr. Nemunaitis’ patent infringement work covers a wide variety of technologies, including digital content distribution and protection; fiber optic networking; physical layer radio frequency (RF) signaling; automatic repeat request (ARQ) protocols; digital video compression algorithms; and techniques employed by various wireless communications standards. His experience also includes representing companies in the oilfield services industry in patent claims involving hydraulic fracturing tools and techniques.
A former federal clerk, Mr. Nemunaitis previously practiced law at Dallas’ McKool Smith before joining Caldwell Cassady & Curry two years ago.
“We are proud to announce that Justin has been named a principal,” says firm co-founder Brad Caldwell. “He is a great asset to our firm and someone who brings tremendous value to our clients.”
Mr. Nemunaitis has helped clients win some of the largest technology-related verdicts in recent legal history, including the nine-figure verdict handed down in early February for firm client VirnetX in a patent infringement lawsuit against technology giant Apple Inc. His defense work includes favorable resolutions for such companies as Halliburton, i2 Technologies (now JDA Software) and others.
