Dallas’ Caldwell Cassady & Curry Honored as 2017 Intellectual Property Litigation Department of the Year

Multimillion-dollar patent infringement victories propel firm to top ranking

DALLAS – The Dallas intellectual property and business litigation law firm Caldwell Cassady & Curry is being recognized as the Texas Intellectual Property Litigation Department of the Year by the publishers of Texas Lawyer newspaper.

The annual ranking of the top litigation departments in the state is based on nominations and extensive research by Texas Lawyer’s editors.

The same guide recognized Mr. Cassady and fellow name principals Brad Caldwell and Austin Curry as three of the Top 25 patent litigation attorneys in Texas.

Caldwell Cassady & Curry’s yearlong unbeaten streak included two trial wins against Apple on behalf of VirnetX Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Those trials ended with verdicts of $625.6 and $302.4 million in favor of VirnetX. The firm also won a $22.1 million verdict for Cellular Communications Equipment LLC in another Eastern District case after jurors found Apple liable for infringing a network technology patent.
