Caldwell Cassady & Curry Helps Adeia Secure Another Patent Licensing Deal

Caldwell Cassady & Curry recently helped California-based Adeia Semiconductor Bonding Technologies Inc. successfully conclude two patent infringement lawsuits through a multi-year licensing agreement with the multinational semiconductor chip provider Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD).

Caldwell Cassady & Curry principals Brad Caldwell, Jason Cassady, Austin Curry, Brian Johnston, Seth Reich, and Andrew Langford represented Adeia with key support from firm associate Eric Horsley in the lawsuits filed last fall in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

In addition to damages, Adeia requested preliminary and permanent injunctions to prevent the infringement of its U.S. Patent No. 11,978,681; No. 12,199,069; No. 12,322,650; No. 12,381,173; No. 8,389,378; No. 10,879,226; No. 12,401,010; No. 9,564,446; No. 11,978,639 and No. 10,283,592.

Adeia Inc. is a leading technology research company with one of the world’s largest intellectual property portfolios, including patents covering hybrid bonding and advanced process-node technologies used by the semiconductor chip industry.

At the end of last year, Caldwell Cassady & Curry helped Adeia secure a separate long-term licensing deal with entertainment giants The Walt Disney Company, ESPN, Hulu, and other Disney subsidiaries. The settlement over patents covering media and streaming technology ended an infringement lawsuit the firm filed a year earlier in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
