Caldwell Cassady & Curry won a $105 million verdict in April 2025 for patent holder VidStream, LLC, in a long-running lawsuit against social media giant Twitter, Inc., now operating as X Corp.
The trial in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas focused on VidStream’s U.S. Patent No. 8,464,304, which covers server and client technology designed for the efficient online sharing of videos. Jurors heard evidence for six days before finding that Twitter had not only infringed VidStream’s patent but had done so willfully. Post-trial motions are pending.
The case is VidStream, LLC. v. Twitter, Inc., No. 3:16-cv-00764.
