Caldwell Cassady & Curry is boosting the firm’s trial team with the addition of experienced courtroom attorney James Yanney.
Mr. Yanney, who joins the firm as an associate, focuses on patent litigation and other technologically complex disputes covering a wide array of industries.
A former assistant district attorney and leader of a successful solo practice, Mr. Yanney has first-chair experience in multiple jury trials. He is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and earned his engineering degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, summa cum laude, where he focused on computer architecture, artificial intelligence, and software engineering.
Mr. Yanney’s legal track record includes handling numerous patent prosecutions for major technology companies, working alongside inventors and engineers to draft patent applications and develop claim strategies, and managing responses to substantive actions from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He brings an in-depth understanding of how patent rights are developed, examined, and ultimately asserted or challenged.
